Description:
Drake University is seeking a full-time Assistant Equipment Manager. This position will assist in all aspects of the day-to-day duties of the Knapp Center and Fieldhouse Equipment Rooms. The position will assist the Head Equipment Manager with the issuing, maintenance, repair, and collection of athletic equipment and apparel for all sports. Primary sport responsibilities will be assigned. Candidates will be responsible to operate Equipment Room cloud computing operational processes and procurement policies/procedures, including maintaining accurate records of athletic equipment inventory. Other duties as assigned by the Head Equipment Manager and the Director of Athletics.
Duties:
| Function | Percent | Description |
| 01 | 40% | Issue, maintain and collect equipment and apparel for all sports |
| 02 | 20% | Primary contact for assigned sport programs. Responsible for ordering and maintaining equipment, laundry, and set-up for athletic competitions and practice. |
| 03 | 20% | Properly operate, edit, and maintain the Equipment Room files using Google Drive and other cloud computing platforms. Includes operation of Equipment Room’s inventory program for all sports to ensure efficient procurement and use of Athletics department property. |
| 04 | 5% | Launder uniforms and practice gear daily |
| 05 | 5% | Assist in inventory of all incoming shipments to the equipment room. |
| 06 | 5% | Assist in supervision of student managers. |
| 07 | 0% | Other duties as assigned by Director of Equipment Operations. |
| 08 | 0% | All of the duties described above require an understanding of and compliance with the rules of the NCAA, the Missouri Valley Conference, the Pioneer Football League, the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, and/or the Summit League, and Drake University. |
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree required. The candidate must be certified by the Athletic Equipment Managers Association or certifiable within one year of employment. This position requires working nights/weekends, the ability to lift 50 pounds and the capability to work independently. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and must pass a background check.
