Job Description— The role of the Assistant Equipment Manager is to oversee and manage the daily operations of the track and cross-country equipment room and other sports as assigned.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the oversight of all operations in the equipment room, issuance and maintenance of all athletic equipment and apparel for student-athletes, coaches and staff, inventory and storing equipment, budget management and oversight of student employees.
Essential Functions: Oversight of day-to-day operations of track and cross-country equipment room Ordering, inventory and equipment maintenance of uniforms, shoes, apparel, accessories, and track and field meet and practice equipment Speak with potential student-athletes about OU and our athletics programs and set-up recruiting displays Cultivate relationships with vendors that supply our athletics equipment Research and test new and innovative equipment products that allow our student-athletes to perform at their optimum levelCoordinate with medical training staff regarding student-athlete injury management and preventative injury management 

 Job Requirements
Required Education: Bachelor Degree, AND:12 months experience in collegiate or professional sport equipment operations
Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months of related experience in lieu of the Bahelor’s degree for a total of 60 months of expeience Skills:Must be able to supervise staff and communicate directions and expectations effectivelyMust be able to engage in repetitive motions, communicate and driveHighly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlinesStrong initiative to solve problemsAbility to work with a diverse group of coaches, administration and student-athletesDetail oriented for accuracy of data and informationFrequent exposure to pressure caused by deadlines and busy periods
Certifications:Valid Driver’s License, Athletic Equipment Managers Association certification or ability to become certified in 12-18 months.
 Advertised Physical Requirements:Abiity to engage in repetitive motionsMust be able to lift up to 25 lbsEnvironmental:Some exposure to hazards or conditions which require following basic safety precautions
Departmental Preferences:Knowledge of NCAA rules.3+ years experience in collegiate athletics or related field.
