JOB DESCRIPTION

USC Athletics is looking to hire anAssociate Athletic Director, Equipment Operationsto join our staff and student community of 600+ student-athletes.This role is responsible forproviding department leadership of equipment services for all student-athletes, coaches and staff for USC Athletics.

Additional requirements includeoversight of inventory, ordering, receiving and distribution of all athletic equipment and apparel.Lead and develop a team of full-time equipment staff and student managers.

Reporting directly to theExecutive Senior Associate AD, Chief Operating Officer,theAssociate Athletic Director, Equipment Operationswill serve on the Athletics operations leadership team and work in collaboration withNike, Athletics Administration, coaches and staff to execute equipment operations at the highest level. The ideal candidate willpossess excellent leadership and communication skills, demonstrated experience with apparel providers and a strong work ethic.Knowledge of and experience working in higher education preferred. Understanding of the unique culture and needs of college athletes preferred.

Roles and responsibilities to include:

Directs equipment services for USC Athletics to support student-athletes, coaches and staff
Manage Nike relationship and execution of contractual commitments
Oversee and develop inventory control for all equipment and apparel within the Athletics Department
Oversee ordering of apparel and specialized equipment
Supervise proper fitting of protective equipment
Work collaboratively with Athletic Administration on department budget and apparel allotments
Provide internal and external communication related to equipment operation with all necessary parties
Ensure compliance with all NCAA, Pac-12 and University rules and regulations

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of7years experience in NCAA Athletics equipment with three in a managerial capacity. Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education.
AEMA Certification
Demonstrated ability to lead an Athletics equipment operation
Experience organizing and development equipment workspace and storage
Knowledge of inventory systems and ability to maintain inventory records for athletic teams in real time using digital database
Experience planning and executing large apparel orders
Exceptional organization and time management skills
Ability to develop and manage budgets
Strong computer skills
Experience working in higher education and/or a sports related field ideal.
