Position Summary: Provides a variety of job duties and activities that support a department, team or individuals.
Duties and Responsibilitie
Responsible for the daily operation of the equipment room (ongoing)
Maintains on-going inventory control, status and record of all athletic department apparel and equipment including issue and, where applicable, retrieval
Assist in the preparation of the annual budget for athletic equipment (October)
Responsible for ordering of all athletic department apparel and equipment as needed (ongoing)
Create and manage corresponding invoice/requests for payment for all athletic apparel and equipment purchased by the Athletic Department
Maintain records of receiving of all athletic department apparel and equipment (ongoing)
Oversee laundry operations of all game and practice team apparel and equipment
Promote and ensure proper care in the maintenance of equipment and supplies
Maintain, wash and repair athletic training department equipment (as applicable)
Coordinate the reconditioning process for all athletic equipment (ongoing)
Maintain and coordinate storage of athletic team equipment in athletic storage facilities at all athletic fields, dugouts, Merkert gym and Sports Complex
Perform annual inspection and maintenance of all athletic facilities equipment (May)
Coordinate the hiring of student equipment managers (August/September)
Supervise student equipment managers
Coordinate transportation of athletic equipment and laundry needs (if applicable) to away contest sites
Prepare and distribute necessary equipment and apparel to home events coordinator for all home events.
Assist in Home Event Operations as needed
Ability to work varied hours/days including nights/weekends.
Education and/or
Experience
Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university.

Preferred
Qualifications One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. AEMA certified, or able to be certified, within one year.
Knowledge, Skills,
and Abilities
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business
correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra
and geometry.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions
furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Internet software; Inventory software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing
software.
