Seeking a cross-industry professional that is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and managing all of the athletic equipment and apparel budgets for assigned LSU athletic teams. This requires a sound knowledge of all NCAA and SEC policies and guidelines along with university compliance policies to ensure all compliance, licensing and marketing regulations are followed. This position requires the professional to know and actively investigate all technology advancements, available modalities, and quality standards to order apparel and manage inventory across all athletic equipment rooms. To optimize each athlete’s safety, this person is expected to know how to properly fit equipment according to all manufacturers’ guidelines, detect equipment malfunctions and assure necessary repairs are completed in a timely manner, and maintain sanitized equipment, uniforms, and apparel according to industry requirements. This position requires the professional to know and actively investigate all technology advancements and available modalities to effectively and efficiently implement the logistics required to securely transport equipment and apparel for home and away competitions which includes, but is not limited to, coordinating all vested departments’ needs. In addition to these duties, this person is in charge of the athletic mail and shipping services at Tiger Stadium, this person is responsible for maintaining the laundry services according to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards for sports performance, sports medicine, facilities, and all assigned athletic teams. This position requires the employee to work holidays and weekends, and to participate in recruiting prospective students. This individual must work with professional organizations and other governing agencies on institutional and national levels to evaluate and establish measures that meet and exceed athletic equipment and apparel safety, contribute to writing new athletic equipment and apparel safety guidelines/policies and procedures, and educate others on the day-to-day importance and impact of athletic equipment safety.

- Figure out the logistics for proper transport, maintenance, and ordering of equipment/apparel
50% Oversees the Pete Maravich Assembly Center Equipment Rooms; Coordinates proper maintenance and fitting techniques for athletic equipment and develops a proper maintenance schedule for this equipment based on manufacturer’s recommendations; Keeps accurate records of all athletic equipment ordered, received and issued for assigned sports.
15% Supervises the purchasing, inventory and issuing of athletic equipment for assigned sports; develops and supervises a policy for the distribution and recovery of all athletic equipment issued; Works closely with coaches on a daily basis to determine their needs and assist them with their equipment budget.
15% Schedules laundry for assigned facilities, trains and supervises the personnel assigned to laundry. Maintains laundry equipment at assigned facilities.
15% Oversee Tiger Stadium Equipment Room Shipping/Receiving and Mail Services; Receives, organizes, secures, and distributes all packages for LSU Athletics.
5% Advances and supports LSU and Athletics Department diversity and inclusion initiatives through personal participation in educational and developmental opportunities as well as participation in the creation of an inclusive culture consistent with the values of LSU and its department; Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree with three years experience in an athletic equipment department. Certified or certifiable by the Athletic Equipment Managers Association.
Special or Physical Qualifications
Ability to work extended days and weekends. Travel is required.
