Director of Facilities and Event Operations (22-34)
Francis Marion University, an NCAA Division II institution and a member of the Conference Carolinas, invites applications for a Director of Facilities and Event Operations. The Director will report to the Assistant Director of Athletics for Compliance, and is responsible for all game operations, equipment issue and care, and athletic facility management.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Manages operating budget for athletic facilities/game and event operations
• Hires, trains and manages staff of graduate assistant(s), interns, student workers and other volunteer event staff.
• Assists in the planning and scheduling of all departmental sport practices and games.
• Coordinates, directs and supervises all aspects of home game and special event management to include setup, concessions, event game staff, game officials, tickets, and visiting team management.
• Management of athletic department uniforms, practice gear and supplies.
• Overseeing the proper upkeep and maintenance of athletic facilities.
• Assists the Director of Athletics with special events.
FMU Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred. Strong computer skills required; must be proficient in Microsoft Office products such as Excel. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Needs confident interpersonal and general office skills, as well as the ability to communicate with the campus community as the need arises.
