Equipment Services Fellow

The University of Pittsburgh is seeking applicants for an Equipment Services Fellow that would help oversee the equipment needs for 2-3 teams and assist the Assistant Athletic Director of Equipment Services in a variety of tasks to continue enhancing the equipment services department.

Compensation: Equipment Services Fellowship with paid hourly wage.


Duties Include:

  • Oversee equipment needs for 2-3 sports (likely baseball, women’s lacrosse, and swimming/diving)
    • This will be primarily based out of the Petersen Sports Complex
    • Based on available time, this position has the opportunity to expand into assisting with other varsity sports
  • Responsible for managing the day-to-day equipment operations of each team
    • Assist in inventory management utilizing web-based software FrontRush Trac
    • Issue and retrieve team gear and apparel
  • Opportunity to gain and understanding of the Nike Gameday system
    • Place orders through the guidance of the equipment services staff and respective coaches
  • Manage team clothing uniforms while practicing safe and proper laundering methods
  • Perform various administrative duties
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the equipment services staff

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least one year of experience working in an athletic equipment room at either the collegiate or professional level
  • Ability to work non-standard work hours or work week, which may include early morning, nights or holidays
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds

Skills Required:

  • Ability to be flexible and adjust to schedule changes
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with all members of the Equipment Staff and coaching staffs you are affiliated with
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Working knowledge of an inventory management program (FrontRush Trac preferred)
  • Knowledge and understanding of NCAA and ACC bylaws
