Graduate Assistant Equipment Manager-Illinois State Univ.

Illinois State University, a NCAA Division I institution, member of the Missouri Valley Conference invites applications for the position of Equipment Graduate Assistant. This 12-month position includes a tuition waiver and a stipend of $1,742 per month. The successful applicant must meet the admission requirements for Illinois State’s Graduate School.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Inventory and evaluation of equipment • Laundry operation for assigned sports • Equipment receipt, storage, issue and return • Perform game day and travel duties • Assist teams with their recruiting efforts with displays • Recruitment and management of student workers and interns • Equipment maintenance • Other duties as assigned from the Director of Equipment • Night and weekend work with the possibility of holiday work
As a part of your responsibilities, you will follow the regulations and guidelines of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), the Missouri Valley Conference or the Missouri Valley Football conference, the Athletics Department and Illinois State University.
Required qualifications include:
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Eligibility for appointment per the requirements in the Graduate Assistant Handbook
• Graduate student at Illinois State University majoring in Recreation Administration, Sports Management or Business Administration.
Preferred qualifications include:
• AEMA certification (or eligible for certification within a year of hire)
• Working knowledge of athletic equipment apparatuses (i.e. laundry machines, heat press, etc.)
• Prior athletic equipment experience, specifically with football and basketball
• A working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
