Head Basketball Equipment Manager – JMU

James Madison University is looking for a Head Basketball Equipment Manager to operate the Atlantic Union Bank Center equipment room and serve the men’s & women’s basketball teams and the cheer program.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Assist in the management of cleaning, and collection of athletic apparel and equipment
• Maintain up-to-date inventory systems, store inventory properly, and dispose of outdated inventory according to compliance standards
• Assist with purchasing, receiving and shipping, equipment room storage and inventory, issuance, repair, and maintenance of equipment apparel and machinery
• Oversee uniform and equipment distribution and retrieval
• Full preparation of apparel/equipment issue for each assigned team of season start up
• Assist the Director with inventory, external and internal communication, invoicing and billing

Qualifications
Required
• AEMA certification or certifiable within one year
• Basic knowledge of laundry procedures and stain removal
• Basic knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
• Knowledge of athletic equipment room operations and records maintenance
• Ability to work evenings and weekends
• Organized, detailed, a self-starter, and able to work independently
• Proficient in Microsoft applications

Preferred
• Previous work within a Division I Intercollegiate Athletics program
• Previous work experience as a basketball equipment manager
• Experience working with Front Rush inventory software
