Head Equipment Manager-Olympic Sports William & Mary

The position maintains the athletic supplies and equipment used by university athletic teams and ensures equipment rooms are in order. Essential functions include, but are not limited to: launder uniforms and other equipment as needed; receive and issue sports supplies and equipment to coaches and players; conduct an inventory of supplies and equipment; prepare supplies and equipment for travel with athletic teams, and set up and stock locker rooms with appropriate equipment for home and away games.

• Assist the Director of Equipment Services with the purchase and maintenance of all equipment.
• Provide day-to-day issues and maintenance of equipment for specific athletic teams requesting assistance. Coordinate all purchases with each Head Coach or their designee.
• Maintain an accurate, up-to-date inventory of all equipment and apparel for all sports working out of Kaplan Arena.
– Oversee the issue and retention of all equipment and apparel.
– Assist Director of Equipment Services with the annual reconditioning of Equipment as necessary.
– Coordinate with individual sports teams for the combined purchase and distribution of unified expendable supplies.
– Coordinate with the Athletic Business Office to assure accurate transfer and billing of expenses to the appropriate teams.
• Possess the knowledge to properly fit all field hockey, baseball, and lacrosse protective equipment.
• Provide proper sizing and fitting of necessary apparel and equipment for specific athletic teams requesting assistance.
• Possess knowledge and pursue continual education of NCAA rules relative to equipment purchasing, allocation, and retention.
• Maintain the ongoing education of all players, coaches, and athletic trainers regarding the appropriate use and maintenance of various athletic equipment.
• Possess and continue to expand computer skills and the use of technology to enhance operational efficiency

Pay Range Up to $43,000, commensurate with experience.
