TCU Athletics Equipment Services Football Graduate Assistant

Texas Christian University located in Fort Worth, Texas has and opening for a Graduate Assistant Athletics Equipment Manager for football beginning May/June 2024.

Intercollegiate Athletics at TCU:

Texas Christian University (TCU) is a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the Big 12 Conference.  The athletics department supports over 500 student athletes and employs over 100 full-time administrators, coaches and staff members.

Job responsibilities:

Working with the Director of Football Equipment and the Associate Director of Equipment Operations in ordering, receiving, distributing, retention, inventorying, laundering, repair, and other responsibilities as assigned.  Sport responsibilities include football, potential other sports and other support groups within the Athletics Department.

Desired qualifications:

Candidate should be familiar with Nike, Nike Gameday, and the Helmet Tracker Inventory System.  The knowledge and understanding of NCAA, and Big 12 policies and procedures. Must be willing to work nights, weekends, and if necessary travel with respected sports.  Must be able to work under pressure, work with student athletes and student equipment managers.  This individual must be a self-starter, self-motivated, work well with others, and communicate in an effective manner, as well as have a positive attitude.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
• May work in all weather conditions, • May work around standard office conditions, • Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation, • Use of manual dexterity, • Lifting and moving

 Requirements:

Must be a college graduate and accepted into the graduate program at TCU. Candidate must have previous work experience in a college/professional level equipment room and want to pursue employment as an equipment manager. Monthly stipend is $1700.00 and all tuition, fees and books are covered.  Must be able to lift 50lbs+.   Membership in the AEMA and the willingness to become certified by the AEMA is highly encouraged.
