Position Summary
Reporting to the Executive Director of Athletics, the Athletic Equipment Manager is responsible for athletic uniform and equipment safety, maintenance, and inventory. The Athletic Equipment Manager will oversee the equipment operation of all sports.  Ordering, managing, distribution, maintenance, and inventory of all uniforms and equipment to support all sports for the Athletic Department.  Affection for students in this age group, an understanding of their needs and energy, and a willingness to work collaboratively with students, employees, and administration.
Essential Responsibilities
Organize, manage, and maintain athletic uniforms and equipment for all sports.
Manage the inventory for athletic uniforms and equipmentManage the distribution, return, storage, and maintenance of athletic uniforms and equipment
Fit student-athletes with proper size of uniforms and equipment
Work with coaches and athletic directors to coordinate the purchase, issue, and return of all athletic equipment
Pack, transport, and set up equipment for on campus athletic games/events
Launder athletic uniforms and towels
Understand blood borne pathogens and exposure to laundry and cleaning supplies
Flexible work schedule to include nights and weekends
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or 3-5 years relevant experience
First Aid/CPR/Bloodborne pathogen certification
Valid Michigan Chauffeur’s Driver’s License
Knowledge of athletic uniforms, equipment and supplies and how to maintain
Strong written, spoken and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to problem-solve, multi-task and work with frequent interruptions
Customer service attitude and ability to work with a diverse group of student athletes
Organized, dependable and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing deadlines and multiple priorities
High energy, flexibility, warmth and a sense of humor
May be required to lift up to 50 pounds
