Position Overview
Assist in all aspects of the equipment operation including, but not limited to, receiving, inventory, issuance, use, and maintenance of equipment according to established policies and procedures.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
1. Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the equipment room(s) for assigned sports. 2. Coordinate with the team operations personnel to meet equipment needs for assigned sports. 3. Responsible for ordering of Adidas apparel and Adidas budget management for assigned sports. 4. As necessary, assist team operations personnel in ordering of sport specific equipment. 5. As required, ensure athletic equipment is properly set-up, cleaned, packed, transported and stored for practice and games, both home and away. 6. As required, execute fitting of all athletes in sport specific equipment ensuring proper fit and compliance with safety standards. 7. Assist with Athletic Department’s shipping and receiving centralized facility. 8. Maintain detailed inventory records of all Adidas apparel for assigned sports. 9. For assigned sports, assist team operations personnel with managing locker and equipment room areas and for monitoring and advising on the security of these areas. 10. Assist in laundry operations of assigned sports, including, but not limited to, all game day laundry. 11. Comply with all applicable National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and Southeastern Conference (SEC) regulations in the performance of job duties. 12. Performs related duties as assigned*This position will assist in supervising sport specific student manger staff as well as equipment room student managers.The above essential duties are representative of major duties of positions in this position. Specific duties and responsibilities may vary based upon departmental needs. Other duties may be assigned to the above consistent with the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the job. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s of Science degree in related field with experience at a minimum of Post Graduate Internship and/or Graduate Assistantship. Commercial Driver’s License eligible; must be certified by AEMA or working towards certification. |
Preferred Qualifications
1. Experience beyond the minimum; 1-2 years of relevant full-time experience. 2. Knowledge of Inventory management system. 3. Knowledge of proper helmet and shoulder pad fitting.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities· Ability to work long and irregular hours. · Ability to travel. · Ability to work in extreme temperatures. |
Working Conditions & Physical Effort:
· Regularly involves lifting, bending or other physical exertion. Often exposed to one or more elements such as heat, cold, noise, dirt, chemicals, etc.
· Job frequently requires walking, standing, lifting, sitting, reaching, talking, hearing, and handling objects with hands.
· Requires handling of heavy weight objects up to 100 lbs. on a regular basis and on occasion up to 150 lbs.
· Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
