The University of South Dakota in Vermillion, S.D., is seeking an individual to serve in a
graduate assistantship position as Assistant Equipment Room Manager.
Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Equipment, the position will be
responsible for assisting with duties associated with all aspects of operating a D1 Equipment
Room. Duties include assisting with inventory control, maintenance, washing, mending and
caring for apparel, maintaining athletic equipment in good order for safety and effective
performance, distributing uniforms and equipment, preparing uniforms and equipment for team
travel. The position will assist with all sports, but the main focus will be with football. Football
specific duties include attending all practice and games, set-up and tear down of communication
systems, care and repair of football helmets and shoulder pads, and supervision of student
managers. All responsibilities must be performed in compliance with NCAA, conference, and
university policy and procedures.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree, experience with equipment room duties and knowledge of
NCAA rules and regulations, preferred.

This position requires flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
Compensation includes an hourly salary and reduced tuition. The successful candidate must be
