Athletics Department
Responsible for overall direction, management and supervision of equipment operations
of assigned sports. Operational responsibilities include coordinating the equipment and
apparel preparation and setup for practices, workouts, and equipment transportation to
away events. Ensure security of equipment facilities and athletic equipment. Maintain
computerized inventory of athletic equipment. Ensure compliance with NCAA, Big Ten
and University protective equipment standards, policies and procedures. Act as the
liaison with equipment manufacturers, coaches and student-athletes in selection of
sports equipment, shoes and apparel. Financial responsibilities include managing
operating budget for each assigned sport including purchasing and inventory control.
Direct responsibility for managing their assigned sports portion of the Adidas equipment
contract/budget. Must work evenings, weekends, holidays and travel with the assigned
sports teams. Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree plus two (2) years of
equipment room experience required; Equivalent education/experience or student
manager work experience will be considered. A thorough knowledge of the principles
and practices of inventory control/accountability, budget preparation and management is
required. Criminal history background check and driving record check will be conducted.
