Description
The Coordinator of Athletic Equipment & Football Equipment manager provides support to the Athletic Department under the supervision of the Director of Operations by ensuring all equipment, uniforms, and apparel is properly maintained. Additionally, this position will service the equipment needs of the football program by maintaining equipment at practice, at contests, and throughout the offseason.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the daily operations of the athletic equipment room, which includes but is not limited to: providing laundry services, setting up uniforms for contests, and maintaining inventory control of shared equipment.
  • Assist with the preparation and maintenance of athletic facilities in collaboration with Facilities and Campus Services for practices, contests, and classes.
  • Provide oversight of the football equipment operation through attendance at all practices, games, and team activities as assigned by the Director of Operations in conjunction with the Head Football Coach.
  • Track issuance and return of equipment and assist with the season- and year-end inventory process.
  • Recommend and consult with the Director of Operations on purchase of equipment, apparel, and supplies for all intercollegiate athletic programs.
  • Assist in the hiring and training of a student workforce of 10-15 students. Responsible for supervision of these students as well as student payroll.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or directed by supervisor.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Sport Management, Athletic Administration or related field of study required. AEMA Certification preferred.

1-3 years of applicable experience in an athletic environment, preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of best practices for equipment maintenance and repair, in particular the fitting of protective equipment for football.
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations relative to equipment purchasing, allocation, and retention.
  • Knowledge of Google Suite (GMail, Docs, Sheets, etc.)
  • Ability to effectively communicate and problem solve with colleagues, students, and vendors.
  • Ability to work regular weekend and evening hours to provide coverage to the equipment room, supervise student staff, and attend football practices and games.
  • Basic sewing skills for garment alteration and repair, preferred but not required.

This is a non-exempt position, eligible to receive overtime in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act. This position may be subject to overtime during high peak times, etc. as directed and approved by the supervisor.

Compensation: $18.75 hourly, overtime eligible
