Athletic Department Associate – Choate Rosemary Hall

POSITION PURPOSE:

Reporting to the Head Equipment Manager, the Athletic Department Associate assists the athletic department with various tasks throughout the academic year with responsibilities in the areas of equipment room, game day operations, athletic awards processes, coaching (interscholastic/intramural), etc.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Assist with ongoing record keeping of items issued, returned, and charged (when damaged or lost).
  2. Perform laundry services to ensure the proper cleaning of all uniforms.
  3. Assist with the inspection, maintenance, and repair of athletic equipment and clothing.
  4. Fitting: Fit equipment for athletes for each specific sport in compliance with NOCSAE, NCAA, and NFHS standards
  5. Assist athletic department with game day operations
  6. Assist athletic department with clerical duties pertaining to the athletic seasons
  7. Some custodial duties in the equipment room such as: sweeping, mopping, wiping down counters, etc.
  8. Have the knowledge and ability to carry out all aspects of the WJAC emergency action plan.
  9. Ability to coach interscholastic (assistant) or intramural classes as deemed appropriate by the Athletic Director
  10. Other related duties as assigned.

Education:   HS Diploma

Prior experience: Previous high school or collegiate experience preferred.

Licenses & Certifications: CPR/AED/First Aid; or the ability to complete once hired

The worker is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned (i.e., custodial, food services, general labor, etc.) or to make general observations of facilities or structures (i.e., security guard, inspection, etc.).

The worker is subject to both environmental conditions: Activities occur inside and outside.

The worker is subject to hazards: Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working in high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.

Academic year (August – June) 25 hours per week with rotating Saturdays
