AEMA Membership & Convention Fee Schedule (2026 - 2028)

Updated November 21, 2025

FAQs

  • Why is AEMA changing its membership and convention fee structure?

AEMA is introducing these changes to ensure we continue providing high-quality services, education, and convention experiences while remaining affordable. Operating costs have increased and many members face budget and scheduling constraints. With a phased fee adjustment and separation of membership and convention registration, we’re providing more flexibility and better member value.

  • What is the phased fee schedule for the next years?

    Window Membership Fee
    Convention Fee
    2026-27 $155 (includes processing)
    $165 (includes processing)
    2027-28 $155 $165

*Early-bird discounts available in February of each year.

  • What new benefits will members receive under this structure?

Over 2026-2028, AEMA will launch several key enhancements:

    • Digital study guide/manual (2026)

    • Mobile event app for the convention (2026)

    • Expanded regional CEU opportunities beyond the convention (2026)

    • Sport-specific programming and insurance benefits (2027)

These upgrades strengthen professional value and education for all members, regardless of whether you attend the convention.

  • How do I submit requests for CEU's?

Each district is represented by a CEC member, who is available to assist all members in maintaining their certification. A list of the Districts and the CEC members can be found on the website. It is your responsibility to submit your request within thirty days (30) of the activity.  The Report Form can also be found on the website. Fill out the information requested and attach any necessary documentation.  Once completed, it will be sent directly to your representative.  If you have any questions, please reach out to your representative for assistance.  Tip: If you are not sure if an activity is worth CEU points, report it anyway. Your CEC representative will review your reports and let you know if they have educational value.

  • How does AEMA’s cost compare to similar associations?

Even with the updated fees, AEMA remains 20-30% more affordable than many peer professional associations.
    Examples include:

    • National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA): Membership ~$300+ + Convention ~$349

    • National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA): Membership ~$371 + Convention ~$320

    • American Football Coaches Association (AFCA): Membership ranges $175-$400 and convention registration is included

  • When does the membership period run and how do I renew?

Membership is annual. Any member joining or renewing between September and January will still have a membership end date of August 30 (there is no pro-rating). The membership window opens February 1 each year.

  • Do I have to attend the convention to maintain my membership or certification?

No. Membership and certification eligibility do not require convention attendance. AEMA is expanding year-round CEU options and educational benefits so you can meet professional development goals even if you cannot attend the national convention.

  • What happens if I miss the early-bird window or renew late?

Early-bird discounts are offered (usually in February). After standard renewal windows or deadlines, late fees may apply. To maximize value, we encourage renewing early and monitoring announcements each February.
