Assistant Equipment Manager – Olympic—University of Wyoming

JOB TITLE: Assistant Equipment Manager – Olympic
JOB PURPOSE: Assist in supervision and duties with assigned sports and departments in support of equipment department functions including purchasing, issuance, and inventory of athletic equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Collaborate with coaches and staff to proactively and effectively address the equipment needs of assigned intercollegiate athletic programs and departments, including purchasing, receiving, issuing, returns, maintenance, and repairs of equipment.Ensure all athletic equipment which includes, but is not limited to: uniforms, helmets, decals, banners and logos comply with conference and NCAA regulations along with University of Wyoming brand and licensing directives.Assist with practice and game laundry.Keep inventory on all apparel, footwear, and accessory items for assigned teams.Assist in the embellishment process of team issued apparel and competition wear.Responsible for shipping and receiving duties for Athletic Department.Assist in supervising and scheduling student managers and interns as needed.Work with assigned sports and departments. Primary sports for this position are Men’s Basketball, Women’s Basketball, Volleyball, Wrestling, Track and Field, Swimming and Diving, and Soccer.Attend home contests and practice as needed. Some travel to away contests may be required occasionally.Assist in the development and monitoring of the equipment budget pertaining to assigned sports teams.Evening and weekend hours with some travel required.Assist with distribution of shipping/receiving daily.Other duties as assigned.
REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY: This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree
Experience: 3 Years of Equipment Related Experience
Other:Physical ability to handle bulky or heavy stock items, equipment, and supplies up to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodationKnowledge of issuing, fitting, cleaning, and maintaining athletic equipment.Valid driver’s license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) compliant with the University Vehicle Use Policy.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of NCAA and NOCSAE rules and guidelinesKnowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Experience with ordering apparel and footwear through team portal system.Experience in packing and planning for away contests.Experience supervising student workers.AEMA Certified Equipment Manager or ability to become certified within one year from hire date.Experience with the day-to-day problem solving associated with equipment duties and responsibilities.
