Position Description: Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas seeks a highly
motivated graduate assistant for the Summer 2025 Semester and beyond. The graduate assistant will gain
hands-on experience in athletic equipment services. This position will provide the opportunity to gain a
diverse level of hands-on experience in all facets of an athletic equipment room including but not
limited to, managing uniform and equipment inventory, equipment repair, laundry services, set up and
break down practice field and game day, assist coaches with drill work, and the daily operation of an
equipment room. This position will work with football only. Upon review, this position is eligible to be extended to a second
year. Lamar University competes at the Division I level in the Southland Conference.
Duties:
Assist director with inventory management.
Assist director in facilitating equipment delivery for away contests.
Assist with laundry services and equipment repair.
Assist coaches setting up and breaking down practice field and with drill work.
Assist with student-athletes’ equipment needs.
Assist with the daily operations of equipment room.
Other duties as assigned by the director.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university is required.
Graduate assistants shall be admitted to a Lamar University graduate program.
GRE scores are a requirement for admission and vary by program.
Ability to interact with team and personnel at all levels.
Must be self-motivated with impeccable organizational skills.
Previous athletics experience as a student worker, or an intern. Preferably as a student manager
or in an athletic equipment department.
Salary: $12,000 annual stipend paid by the semester.
