Football Equipment Intern- Eastern Washington University

General Description: The EWU Equipment staff is seeking a self-motivated, hardworking, trustworthy, reliable and dedicated individual to work with the football program. The internship program offers the opportunity to gain knowledge through hands-on experience working in Division 1 collegiate sports. This internship lasts from the 3rd week in July to 2 weeks after the season ends.

Duration: FALL SEASON – Part-time from end of July through 2-4 weeks after the end of the 2025 football season.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing the inventory for player uniforms and equipment needs.
  • Organize all aspects of the equipment/locker rooms.
  • Traveling to home and away football contests
  • Prepare footballs.
  • Assist with laundry services.
  • Set up and clean home and away locker room.
  • Assist coaches during drill work.
  • Set up and break down practice fields.
  • Assisting helmet/shoulder pad maintenance.

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • Recent College Graduate or currently enrolled in a degree seeking institution.
  • Experience in sports as a football or Olympic student equipment manager

Requisite Abilities and/or Skills:

The Intern will be expected to work part-time averaging 35 hours/week, including evenings/weekends/holidays.

  • Candidates must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure situations- working efficiently and maintaining composure while handling multiple tasks in a dynamic/time sensitive setting.
  • Effective communication skills in time-sensitive situations.
  • The ideal candidate must be a leader that works well with others.
  • Must be self-motivated/eager to assist with all tasks.
  • Must have organizational skills with attention to details at a high level.
  • Must have a selfless-team player mentality.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with working knowledge inventory management systems (Helmet Tracker)
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds on a regular basis.

Pay Rate:

16.66 / hour
