The Assistant Athletic Director, Equipment Services & Operations, will lead, manage, and oversee all operational, financial, and personnel activities of the equipment operations for the University of Pittsburgh Athletic Department Olympic Sports and Men’s & Women’s Basketball. Job Summary Lead, manage, and oversee all operational, financial and personnel activities of the equipment operations for the University of Pittsburgh Athletic Department. Manage the day-to-day operations of the Equipment Services unit, including delegation of duties and support provided by all equipment staff members. This position will have oversight of the ordering, distribution, and retrieval model for Nike apparel and accessories of all Pitt student-athletes, coaches, athletics staff and auxiliary groups. Essential Functions This position will have oversight of ordering, distribution, and retrieval of Nike apparel and accessories for Pitt student-athletes, coaches, athletics staff, and auxiliary groups. As a primary liaison with Pitt’s Nike representatives, this position will maintain a positive relationship and communicate regularly with numerous professionals at Nike headquarters in Oregon. This position will oversee the Olympic sports equipment staff and coordinate with numerous auxiliary groups of the athletics department. This position, with assistance from equipment staff members, is responsible for the management of Nike allocations on an annual basis and will ensure an inventory database is maintained for each team. This position will also ensure compliance with all NCAA regulations, and University and Athletics departmental policies. Additionally, with support from equipment staff members, this position will be responsible for the ordering of post-season awards, collaboration with the Varsity Letter Club, assisting with game management preparations, and serving as a liaison with all team operations personnel and student managers. Finally, the employee will draft and oversee the updating of all internal Equipment Services policies and procedures of operation. The Assistant Athletic Director, Equipment Services, will be directly responsible for the daily management and supervision of the equipment operations for the University’s Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams. The employee will work daily with basketball staff and student managers to develop strategies to meet the athletic apparel and equipment needs of the Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams, coaches and staff. Physical Effort The job consists of constant lifting, often of items 100 lbs. or more, walking and standing for long periods of time.
