Job DutiesThe primary purpose of this position will be to assist the Director of Athletic Equipment in the daily duties of purchasing and maintaining equipment used in various sports. The Assistant Equipment Manager will assist in the fitting of protective equipment and must be skilled in the field of equipment management in order to insure that the athletes are properly protected.The Assistant Equipment Manager will also be responsible for the purchasing, maintenance and inventory of athletic equipment used in various sports. This person will work with the guidance of the Director of Athletic Equipment and the individual sports’ coaches in making decisions on purchases.The Assistant Equipment Manager will also be expected to handle the equipment needs of the various sports with little and often no supervision. Though the actions of this person will be supervised by the Director of Athletic Equipment, the knowledge and expertise of this person will insure that competent decisions are made without supervision.The Assistant Equipment Manager will build quality relationships and work collaboratively and professionally with Pirate Club, athletics, and University staff, students, business vendors and all donors and stakeholders. The individual in this position will also abide by all written policies and procedures of ECU, the Department of Athletics, The Educational Foundation (Pirate Club), the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), and all applicable conferences or associations.Evenings, weekends, and travel required in the performance of the above duties.
