Assistant Equipment Manager-Olympic (Part-Time) – Eastern Washington University

We are hiring in the Sports Equipment Department!

Sports Equipment Assistant 2 – Varsity Sports (SEA 2), under general supervision, duties may include, but are not limited to:

● Maintaining inventories and storage of all athletic uniforms and equipment of a specific athletic team, in addition to fitting, adjusting and cleaning the uniforms and equipment.

● Supervising the transportation of athletic equipment to off-campus events.

● Overseeing the proper setup of equipment in home events

● Ensuring the availability of equipment and uniforms at all times.

● Assist with locker operation and laundry services.

● Work closely with the coaching staff.

● Inspecting and repairing damaged equipment.

● If asked, accompanying teams on trips.

● Performing other related duties as assigned or required.

This position will report to the Athletic Department and Spenser Ybarra.

This position will work various days throughout the week with up to 25 hours per week. This position will require some evening and weekend work.

 

Wage: $20 an hour

Required Qualifications:

No experience required, all applicants will be trained in relevant job skills.

Applicants must have excellent customer service and people skills.

Applicants must have basic computer and mathematical skills.

Applicants must be able to work independently, and with a group in a safe and efficient manner.

Applicants must be reliable, responsive, organized, sensitive to the needs of a diverse population, willing to take direction and follow guidance.

Applicants must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. while team-lifting periodically. Successful applicants may be required to complete EWU’s safe lifting training and/or pass a physical.

Applicant must be able to work with others at all levels, have a professional demeanor, excellent interpersonal skills, strong oral and written communication skills, and emotional intelligence. Applicant must be able to manage conflict, collaborate and work effectively both independently and as a member of a team.
