The University of Oregon athletics equipment department is seeking a hard-working, trustworthy and dependable equipment intern for the 2024-25 athletic year. The candidate should be a recent college graduate or seeking an internship to complete requirements towards a degree. The candidate should be highly self-motivated and seeking a career in equipment management. The equipment intern assists the full-time equipment staff in the equipment operations of numerous sports in multiple equipment rooms. Additional responsibilities include assisting the staff in issuing, storing and inventory management of all equipment using inventory control software while also assisting in leading, directing and supervising student managers. The intern will also assist in managing the annual surplus sale and hosting Big Ten and NCAA championships. The intern will work primarily with Olympic sport programs, assisting with laundry of practice apparel and game uniforms. The qualified candidate will begin June 1st. This position is a 12 month assignment at an hourly pay rate.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree with two years’ student management experience working in a collegiate athletic equipment room. Experience managing team laundry. Ability to work flexible, non-traditional hours including nights, weekends and holidays. Ability to lift 50lbs and stand for long periods of time. This position requires a valid driver’s license and ability to obtain UO driver certification.
Desired Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree with four years working as a student equipment manager in a Division 1 equipment room. Experience working with computerized inventory-control software a plus. Experience with heat transfer graphics software and heat press machines a plus.
